Almost Perfect!

Not a bad Saturday for LSU sports. The football team had what appears to be a very successful Junior Day, accepting two more very high quality commitments. And the baseball team emptied the roster in a 25-8 rout of Centenary.

The only thing missing was 2 points. LSU men's basketball came up one shot short in a great effort against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs hit a 3 pointer with 5 seconds left to retake the lead for good - 60-59.

That's 12 straight SEC losses. Have to admire how hard the Tigers are playing. It cannot be easy to lose every game, some of them very close, and remain motivated to play really hard.

Hope the men get a win before the season ends.

LB Randle and WR Lewis Commit to LSU

Trevon Randle is exactly the kind of high profile LB the Tigers need in this class. The Clear Springs Texas 4* may give Tiger fans bad flashbacks to Mike Davis, however. Although he has said for some time that LSU is his favorite, Texas has not yet offered. We'll see what transpires if/when they do.

Alonzo Lewis from St James HS looks every bit the part of a future stud WR -already 6' 3" and around 200 pounds. He's not rated all that high yet. It will be interesting to see how he rates once the services evaluate him.

Two solid pickups for LSU so far on the first Jr Day. Both Rivals.com and Scout.com have good reviews of these guys on their LSU sites.

Junior Day for LSU Football

A whole slew of 2011 recruiting prospects will be on campus today meeting with the coaches and checking out the program.

Dandy Don has a good rundown of who will be there. www.dandydon.com.

Look for a couple possible commitments today.  More on that once we get confirmations.

Also today - LSU men host Mississippi State and game two of the LSU/Centenary series.
